After a successful tenure as President of the lVlen's Association, Mr. Matthew Fitzgerald turns over the gravel to his successor, Mr. Leo Burns. VBA owes much to these two men for their wonderful work as Presidents of the Association. The Men's Association opened its year of activities with a very success- ful Steak Roast at Picard's Grove. This event was under the chairman- ship of Mr. William Smith. Every- body voted it the best ever, and it looks as if the beef will supplant the clams. The Minstrel of 1954 was judged the greatest of them all, and marked the fourteenth success in a row for the Men. At the Annual Father and Son Dinner, held on February 18th, Father Ben Kuhn of Siena and Ernie Stautner of the Pittsburgh Steelers were the featured speakers. A. mothers are introduced, the Schenec- tady unit of the Ladies' Auxiliary embarked on a busy and successful calendar of events. Encouraged by the friendly lead- ership of Mrs. Robert Muth, Presi- dent, the llnit conducted two gigan- tic rummage sales that broke all re- cords. The Bake Sale was a selloutg the Harvest Shower for the Broth- ers' Pantry was colossalg the Annual Card Party jammed the Elks' Hall. The attendance at meetings and the complete support extended to every venture manifest the regard esteem and love of the Schenectady Mothers for C. AlttllMllXlll ASSQPCIIATIIUN OIF QIBA The Christian Brothers Academy Alumni Association comprises 23,2300 members, divided into two main sec- tions-the Senior Section, classes 1880 to 1935, and the Junior Section, classes 1936 to 1053, and thirty chap- ters, extending alphabetically from Altamont to Westmere. The Christian Brothers Academy Alumni Association has a threefold purpose. First, to promote the relig- ious, scholastic, and athletic inter- ests of Alma Mater, second, to af- ford its members ample opportun- ities for social and economic con- tacts: third, whenever possible, to aid financially the Academy's build- ing program. To fulfill these purposes the ex- ecutive staff arranged eight prin- cipal events for the calendar year, 10533-54. They were: election of Jun- ior officers, homecoming day, Loy- alty Fund appeal program, Alumni Christmas Dance, united general meeting, Alumni banquet, Commun- ion Breakfast, and Alumni Easter Dance.
