On Friday, January 15th, a solemn Mass was cclehrated hy Father Schmieder, O.F.lVI. Conv. and a sermon delivered hy a former pupil of llrother Paulian, Father Joseph Mc-Tigue, O.I'. This Mass was attended by the Cadet t'orps, their parents and friends, On Saturday, January 16th, the Right llevcrend Bishop ot' Alhany presided at another solemn Mass celebrated by Father Arthur Reilly 21, at which Father Joseph Varden 'SESS presented a sermon on the life of llrother Paulian. llrother I'aulian's long career of G0 years as a Vhristian Brother began in 1894. Dur- ing this span ot' years he has been a teacher and director in schools in Providence, R. I., Amawalk, N. Y., I'lut't'alo, N.Y., and San Juan, Puerto Rico. But the city ot' Albany has hcen the scene of his educational work for more than half of his career. Although retired from active teaching a few years ago, llrother Paulian, 11ow in his 82nd year, is still very active in the school and is a well-known and well-loved figure on the first floor of the school.
