The Grammar School basketball teams had both class and varsity teams. The senior team played a full season ot' I6 games, winning most of them. The first game was a thriller and V. HA. downed La Salle by a score of 217-2333. The second game however was fatal and the boys tasted defeat at the hands of the CYO all-stars. Some of the promising players on this team are John IVIL-Mahon, John Koreman, James Williams and William Murphy. The midget team, composed of sev- enth graders only, had difficulties finding opponents. However, these youngsters had five wins in five starts, one a close overtime victory over I,a Salle, and the other over the CYO Peanuts.
