L.A.C.E. ladies held garage sales, sponsored their annual talent show, and continued to support us finan- cially and prayerfully. The Booster Club gave their continued support to our athletic teams again this year. The Development Council, designated for the improvement of our school, met regularly and plann- ed the future of the school. -.ivritriirain g :S+ I' sz, ' 1 Vrf ' S 1 5 5 ,flgiri 1: r. . if -:.,zif.f2ft-5.1 ,,:uiY3' VH-E i .ttf of Q a a., . ..'.

1 80-81 School Year in Review The 1980-81 school year started out on many positive notes. First and foremost, Mr. David Singleton became our new superintendent. He took over a very unstable position and added the stability that gave an air of confidence to everyone associated with the school. The next positive note was the new teachers. Miss Soward, Mrs. Lankford, Miss Benoit, Miss Paschal, Miss Smith, Mrs. Fletcher, Mrs. Stewart, and Miss McGowan. All came in and along with our fine returning teachers, became a vital part of our school family. The class of '81 was not only the biggest in CA. history, but also a very ambitious class. Finally the rest of the student body was a big plus. The moving of the elementary to the high school campus gave a chance for the high school students to learn responsibility by example while learning many other things from our younger students. All these things have made for a most exciting school year. 4 rfzzifw' ' H .. .1 L in- 'si i 538A-WF! . 5 ' . 8 1 Q . .1 gigs' if 3 ' ' . ln athletics, CA. had a banner year. ln Varsity Girls, The Jets over- came a lack of experience to enjoy a good year. ln volleyball, they were 8-4 and came in third place in the mid- cities Christian League. ln basketball, they finished with a 2-6 record and a 4th place. The Varsity Boys did ex- ceptionally well. The Football team was, once again, metro district champs, finishing 6-4 and going to the T.A.P.S. state playoffs. ln Basketball, the Jets were Zl-8, finishing third in the M.C.C.L., won the M.C.C.L. tournament, and went to the T.A.P.S. state playoffs. Both the girls softball and boys baseball teams expect to do well this year with the season, at the time of printing the season is about to begin. ln Jr. High boys athletics, the Jets showed spirit and determination in both football and basketball in lear- ning and performing for the future years. The football team, although winning just one game, went up against more experienced and larger teams. ln basketball, the Jets used teamwork and hustled to make a win- ning season of 4-3 record. 6
