The 19 9-1980 Awards anquet The 1979-1980 Christian Acad- emy Awards Banquet, sponsored by the Senior class of 1980, was an evening of entertainment and mem- ories. Smiles flashed like the many pictures as the Master of Ceremo- nies, Gary Dippery, presented the awards. Among the major awards were the High School Scholastic Award accepted by Tommy West and Micah Goodspeed accepted the Junior High award. In sports, Ken Latimer received the Athlete of the Year award and Susan Waddill received the female Athlete Award. Mike Hogan was awarded Athlete of the Year Award for Junior High. The students, however, were not the only ones receiving awards. Small groups each got up to present their awards to some recipient, whether teacher, coach, sponsor, parent, or really just someone they had come to appreciate over the year. However, the smiles had to end sometime. The Senior class pre- sented a show of pictures trying to tell everyone their story of what the school meant in their lives. Tears were seen on many faces as happy memories of fun and sad times with friends were recounted. And some realized that they would be a part of these times no longer. Everyone was happy they had come to the ban- quet and left with expectancy for the coming year. Congratulations Seniors 1980.
