Leon Weber, winner of the Allen Brooner award, celvlng the trophy from Mr Robert Harris, prin cipal of Richland High School The Allen Brooner Award is presented in memory of Allen Brooner of Dale the first county boy to lose his life in World War II The Award is presented each year to the player displaying the best mental attitude, ability, sports manship, and value to his team The following write up was taken from the county paper Leon Weber, talented center for the Chrlsney Wildcats, Joined the list of Brooner Award winners when he was presented the trophy Sat urday night following the final BBmGof the county tourney Weber is recognized as one of the county's top hardwood performers and he d1dn't let his fans down dur ing his team's losing fight against Dale on Thursday night The big center was assigned the difficult task of guarding Dale's Bob Knott, and he filled the assignment well Both Weber and Knott are 20 point per game scorers Knott d1dn't do a bad job on his opponent, holding Weber to a total of nine Leon, a senior at Chrleney High School, is the son of Mr and Mrs Leo Weber
