Next the 49'ers Medicine Show, Arsenic and Old Lace, corralled the herd so there was more work. The Settlers put on Hoss Opry, causing another stamf pede. This year three teams tried out and it was close competition tor the winning team which con' sisted of Benny Chidlaw, Sybil lennings and Bichard Beers. On November 25, l948, the Chowchilla High School Band traveled to Long Beach, California, to take part in the 'All Western Band Review which took place on November 26 at about seven ocloclc in the evening, They competed aaainst thirty bands, but there were seventy bands in the entire parade, which lasted for three and a half hours and was twenty blocks long.
