Parents pay campus visit A special day for guests is observed each semester when parents visit the campus to spend time with a son or daughter, talk with their pro- fessors, and attend several social events Beautiful warm fall weather draped the campus in October when the parking lots were filled with automobiles and McDowell Columns was filled with parents meeting members of the administra- tion at the morning President ' s Reception, The classroom buildings were then filled as the parents visited with professors in their offices to learn of the academic progress of their son or daughter. These conferences proved to be very beneficial as parents and professors became better acquainted , and in some cases, the students became more motivated! The residence halls were also open to parents and other out-of-town guests, followed by a special buffet lunch in Thomas Cafeteria with entertainment provided by the the Chowan Stage Band under the direction of Professor Bob Brown , The parents were also special guests at the foot- ball game in the afternoon when the Braves battl- ed their archrivals from New York — Nassau Com- munity College In top photo, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Friendly, of Hartsville, S.
