Proudly;, we dedicate. The 1988 CHOW ANOKA to one who is the true friend of every student at Chowan College, and one who has been the confidant and mentor of many. He listens to our gripes. He chides us when our conduct is less than appropriate. He comforts us in times of distress. He counsels with us about our problems. He constantly encourages us to be the best that we can be. He urges us to develop our full potential — intellectually, spiritually, socially, and physically. In his personal life and conduct, he sets the example for what it means to be a total person. He has a real zest for life. We mark his enthusiasm in the classroom, in chapel assembly programs, in the Baptist Student Union Campus Christian Fellowship, in dramatic productions and in athletics. We admire him and lift up his example as worthy of emulation. In our admiration, we affectionately refer to him as The Tiger , The Chap , and the Pope . For all of these reasons and more, we, the students of Chowan College, dedicate the 1988 Chowanoka to a real Christian gentleman. Dr. R.
