Mixon who suc- ceeded President Bunn on July 23,1951. The two story residence hall, which was completely renovated in 1981. accommodates one hun- dred male students. The struc- ture has an attractive and com- fortable lounge area, an apart- ment for the residence hall direc- tor, and each student room has in- dependent heating and air condi- tioning units. PARKER HALL Parker Hall, otherwise known as the Parker Hilton of Mur- freesboro. is occupied by two hun- dred and three residents. The con- struction started on this nine story men ' s dormitory on June 2. 1969 and was completed in 1970, The building is located on Union Street overlooking Chowan ' s Lake Vann. Modern in every aspect. Parker Hall is fully air conditioned and carries it ' s residents to their floors in elevp.tors. Parker Hall is named in honor of the late Klwood W. Parker of Murfreesboro. SIMONS HALL Its all under the bed. Simons Hall, constructed in 1960. is named in memory of Bet- ty Valentine Simons and in honor of Melton E. Valentine. The three- story brick structure, previously called East Hall, provides living accommodations for 118 male students. The structure provides a spacious lounge on the first floor equipped wit h comfortable fur- niture and cable television service for the entertainment of the residents. Simons Hall was completely renovated several years ago and each room is equipped with in- dividual heating and air condi- tioning systems.
