Convenient For All Your Shopping Needs Where could one buy a chemistry book, line guage, pain- ting materials, cards, drinking glasses, cuddly animals or ; shirt? The Chowan College Bookstore. Mrs. Gatewood graciously waits on student customers throughout the day. In addition to supplying a service to students. Mrs. Gatewood keeps a aried supply of merchandise stocked in the bookstore for ( venience. Merchandise ranging from toothpaste and shampoo to sweat shirts and jerseys to books and class supplies can be found covering the shelves. Many Fri- day afternoons the bookstore is packed with students cashing personal checks for money to get home. For holidays or jusl to brighten someone ' s day. numerous greeting cards are available to express one ' s feel- ings. To accompany words of celebration or sympathy, the bookstore carries a wide variety of gifts. If frogs or penguins are your thing. these stuffed animals in cuddly plush materials can be found among the teddy bears and puppy dogs. Shirts, shorts and sweat pants are also available. Let us not forget the text books that broaden our minds with knowledge. The bookstore also carries supplies for students in every curriculum. So. if you should find yourself forgetting someone ' s birthday or wanting to say I Love You to that special someone, the Chowan College Bookstore is convenient for all your shopping needs. Where Everyone Goes - Thomas Cafeteria Thomas Cafeteria is located between McDowell Columns building and Whitaker Library. The cafeteria serves three meals a day: Breakfast from 7-8:15. Lunch from 11:30-1:00. and Dinner from 4:30-6:15. It also has salad, cereal and soup bars which are set up daily. To enter l he cafeteria you must pre- sent a student I. D- card. You do not pay for each meal individually, they are included in the room and board fee. The cafeteria provides the students with steak twice a year. This is a speciality which is not offered in many other schools. The cafeteria is managed by Ron Thompson and employs many of the student workers on campus. The Ladies of BELK HALL Belk Hall for women was dedicated in the honor of Mrs. Ir- win Belk of Charlotte. North Carolina on October 17. 1964. The three story brick building houses one hundred fifty girls this year. The structure has a lounge on each of the three ftoors which pro- vides convenient built-in fur- niture. It is completely modern in design. Each room is air condi- tioned, heated and has ample desk space for studying. Under the direstion of Head Resident. Neal Stanfield. Belk Hall holds a respectable reputation as a residence hall. There are two resi- dent assistants on each floor whom the students can confide in and look to for assistance. During the Christman season. Belk Hall pelebrates with a week of secret Santa Claus presents ending with a Christmas party for all the residents. Belk Hall provides a com- fortable atmosphere to call home throughout the fall and spring semester. Nobody ever answers from the second floor!
