Dedication Each year the student body of Chowan College faces the difficult task of choosing the one to whom the CHOWANOKA will be dedicated. For the student body, this is the way in which they express their appreciation to the outstanding educators present on the campus of Chowan College. The student balloting has resulted in a tie between two equally deserving men. Both have freely imparted their knowledge unto us and have unselfishly given their time and assistance to us whenever they were needed. We are truly richer for having known them and for having studied under their guidance. One of these men, a graduate of Campbell College and East Carolina University, came to Chowan College in 1967. He is comniited to the welfare of his family and is an avid huntsman and outdoorsman. Through his help, we have come to a better understanding of the very substance of life, and under his guidance, the difficult sciences have become simpler. The other person we seek to honor is a graduate of Wake Forest University, Yale University, and the University of Edin- burgh, coming to Chowan College in 1969. He is devoted to his family and a sports enthusiast. Under his direction, we have come to a greater understanding of the Bible and its teachings and he has helped us find the philosophical foundations of life and, thus, find meaning in our own lives. Therefore, it is with pride and gratitude that we dedicate the 1976 CHOWANOKA to MR. GILBERT A. TRIPP, JR. and DR. EARL H. PARKER.
