CHOWAN COLLEGE MURFREESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA 27855 MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT THE CHOW ANOKA 1973-74 I appreciate the fact that the CHOWANOKA staff has given me the opportunity to extend a message to the members of the Chowan College Family through the pages of our annual. This 126th year m the life and service of Chowan has been a good one. This has been true because the Chowan spirit has prevailed, including all sectors of the college community. It has been that particular year in which you as students either began or in which you continued an adventure in higher education. I hope and believe it has proved to be a beneficial experience. The CHOWANOKA requires a great deal of time and effort on the part of the staff. It is prepared primarily by and for students. Nonetheless, it is a significant historical reference. In behalf of the members of the Chowan College community, I express appreciation and gratitude to the CHOWANOKA staff, including faculty advisers and students within the De partment of Graphic Arts, for this 1973-74 annual volume. I love this beloved institution of Christian higher education, as you do, and I know these sentiments will grow and keep us bound together as the years come and go. I cherish the people who comprise the Chowan College Family. Therefore, I urge you to keep in touch and support your alma ma,ter with your best- -love, prayers, influence, and financial support. May the good Lord bless and guide y years to come. one and all, through all the - .uoc t .l jM Bruce K. Whitaker President
