STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Goxernment Association of Chowan College was organized early in the tall term of this year in order to pro ide a just and democratic system of self-government for the student body. It is the purpose of this organi- zation to further the interest of the student body, to control all matters of conduct, to develop self-control, responsibility, loyalty, and good citizenship. All legislative powers of the student body are vested in the student govern- ment coimcil, while the Men ' s and Women ' s Judiciaries are given the judicative powers. The activities of the Student Government tor its first year of existence have been those of organizing and establishing a firm foundation by which the stu- dent bodies of future years will be able to govern themselves and accordingly be recognized as an essential element in the activities of Chowan College.
