This year it was very hard. Everyone involved in the Chouteau-Mazie School system is dedicated, but no one person is more so than another. Therefore, we narrowed down the choices to three. We dedicate the 1982 Wildcat to the following men. Charles Wheeler. Having never taught in another system, this is Mr. Wheeler's second year at Chouteau. He has taught 7th, 8th. and 9th grade P.E. classes, including football and basketball. He has also taught Driver's Education in the high school. Clayton EnJicott. Mr. Endicott has taught at Chouteau since the Fall of 1959. He has taught Chemistry, Biology, and Introductory to Physical Science. He served as high school principal for 16 years, and the 1982 school year is his first year to serve as the district School Treasurer. Billy Wtllyard. After teaching 3 years at Bluejacket, Oklahoma, this is Mr. WilJyard's 7th year at Chouteau. He has been teaching Junior High Science and Math classes. DEDICATION — that is what we believe each of these men exemplify. Thank you gentlemen, for giving Chouteau Schools your very best. Johnny was signed for two more years at Arkansas University. When his two years were up at Arkansas, the Houston Astros signed him out ol college and placed him in their farm system. Johnny worked his way up to the Tucson Toros club where he played well enough to become a pro. The Pittsburg Pirates traded a free agent second baseman for three ol the Astros minor-league ball players. Johnny was one ol those three. The Pirates took Johnny and placed him right in the middle of their line-up and started him at second base. Congratulations Johnny and may you have a long and sucesstull career! 1. Experience in working together as a team both on and off the court served as a valuable lesson for the players. Vaught, in his twentieth year as a coach, spent one year at Strang before starting his career at Chouteau in 196}. With a veteran team returning for the 1981-82 season, Vaught began the year with an overall record of 290 wins and 195 losses. Coach Vaught's teams have had only five seasons with a record below 500. His teams have won a number of district tournaments but only entered the State Tournament in 1975, where they were eliminated in the semi-finals. Vaught's teams have many tournament trophies, but the most impressive record comes from the Miami Invitational Tournament. The Wildcats have been in the finals at Miami, bringing home seven championships. Coach Vaught will retire from coaching after this basketball season, but remain at Chouteau as Junior High Principal. The Wildcats defeated Adair to win the District Tournament, and went on to defeat Kansas to win the regional Consolation, but were beaten out of the Area Tournament. They ended their season with a record of 22-6. James Ashley Journalism teacher 1. Mr Mack E rp presenting Mr D le Vaught with the 500th win game ball. 2. Here rests his head upon the lap of earth A youth to Fortune and to Fame unknown. Fair Science frowned not on his humble birth, And Melancholy marked him for her own. . Large was his bounty and his soul sincere. Heaven did a recompense as largely send: He gave to Misery all he had, a tear, He gained from Heaven f'twas all he wished) a friend. Give our Lord the opportunity to direct your life as you complete your education and face the major life changing decisions in life. Life will not always be easy. However, it will be far more rewarding with Jesus as a constant companion. Many problems, fears and some loneliness will be experienced in life. Jesus will help you face these moments of crisis in your life by providing wisdom to solve them, comfort in the unexplainable and joy in the midst of all. Jesus will make your life worthwhile and help you to be a blessing to many others as you live daily this adventure of life. Let us challenge you to make living for Jesus your number one priority in life. Your greatest achievements in life will result from your total commitment to Jesus and your faithfulness in carrying out that commitment. Be a blessing to everyone you meet in life. It is our sincere prayer that our Lord richly bless your life as you serve our Lord.
