The beauty in the setting of the summer sun could not be seen through the tear-filled eyes of friends on that tragic evening in August of 1980, as the loss of several members of the Crawford family spread through out community. The class of 1982 was stricken with a deep personal grief at the loss of our dear friend and classmate Brooke, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Crawford. Brooke was a friend to each of us whether she knew us very well or not. She was kind, thoughtful, loving, and above all she was happy. She shared her happiness with us making our days a little more sunny. How can we possibly say all that she was to us? Emerson said, “There is no scale or chart on earth to measure what a friend is worth.” Although God has taken her back to his heavenly home, her memory will always live in our hearts. We have learned so much from her. Her friendship was a lasting gift to each of us. Since we can no longer thank her personally, we dedicate this book to her for all that she contributed to each of us.
