CHOTEAU HIGH SCHOOL'S SENIOR CLASS OF 1981 PRESENTS THE BULLDOG THE CLASS OF '81 DEDICATES THIS ANNUAL TO SONJA DEPNER AND COACH RICH DEAN A TRIBUTE TO SONJA DEPNER Did you ever have a friend? I mean a really special friend? I have a friend, I never knew her for one day. That she didn't smile, And giggle, and make me laugh. She has so much inner peace. Have you ever watched Someone blowing cattail seeds One by one, watching them float away? Big brown eyes, and smiling. A smile that could melt any heart. And a touch that would make, Any kitten purr, and purr, She put on her bumble-bee shirt, And came to school. There was always some little joke, The heart goes Boom-Boom-Boom! , Or Magoo , the name I despised. And she was giggling away. When I was down I'd take her picture out. The look on her face, that big warm smile. Always comforted me. Although I haven't seen her For four years now, She's still making me laugh. I guess there was one thing, I didn't know about Sonja, That God wanted her too. After the pain goes away. There is still a strong friendship, I need that smile, sometimes alot, Oh, I know we'll meet again, And God is holding her, In the palm of His hand, But I sure miss her. God Bless You, Sonja, my friend. 2 By Mary Salmond I Dean Memorial Services Held Tuesday At School Richard A. Dean Residents of the Choteau community were shocked and saddened Saturday morning when they learned of the death of 32-year-old Richard A. Dean, Choteau teacher and coach. Dean was killed Friday night in a head-on crash of his pickup truck and a large semi truck about 10 miles south of Choteau on U.S. 287. His Spirit will live in our hearts forever. Well, the food's great and I like the band, but that opening speech that TAMI MCNUTT gave was a little rough Yeah, I wonder when she's going to stop telling us how lazy we all are. What's all that stuff she's passing out? .. . Those are brochures from her European Health Spa chain. Speaking of health, BRENT, I heard you placed high in the Boston Marathon. That's quite an accomplishment .. . Well, I had a real good time doing it too. By the way, LYLE, how come you didn't bring STACY REYNOLDS tonight? ... I asked her, but she had another date in Shelby tonight You poor guy. Hey, what happened to all the food that was on the table just a couple minutes ago? . . . I think DUANE PRUIT, HOOVER HILL and DIANE YARDE just passed by for their after dinner snack. Did you hear that Hoover's Olympia company is going bankrupt? I guess he was drinking more than he was selling I believe it. Look, there's MARK FELLOWS. I guess he played football for Uncle Sonny for four years. He was having such a good time in Bozeman that he forgot to graduate. Now he stays home and washes dishes for DONNA FERRIS while she works as a roughneck on the oil derrick outside of town ... I thought she looked a little rundown. What's that big cloud of smoke over there? . I'm pretty sure that's DIANE YARDE and TAMMY SWANSON. Did you hear that they're the new poster adults for the American Cancer Society? . . . No, I sure didn't. Who's the guy over by the punch bowl? . . . That must be MIKE MURRAY. What's he been doing these last ten years? ...He entered the medical field, as a specialist A specialist? In what? . . Saliva glands . . And there's the two Navy boys, TERRY EVANS and RAY RORVIK. I hear Terry is a high ranking officer. What about Ray? .1 guess he got lost on his second lap of his mile at bootcamp, so they're not too anxious to promote him .. . STACEY STOTT sure was successful. She graduated from Ricks College in the Vfe year plan with an MRS Degree . . . Well, what ever happened to RICK CRABTREE? ... He headed due south to Missoula, then went to North . . . Say, who's the guy with his hands all taped up? . . That's ROB WEARLEY, the renowned Good Man. He took over the chemistry department at Augusta High School I didn't know Augusta had a chemistry department . They don't! . . . I've been meaning to ask you, how come LORIN BURGESS is wearing that crash helmet? . He's a demolition car driver for Texaco. He was in an accident with his car and the fire melted the helmet right onto his head . . . Whose big Greyhound bus is that parked outside? . .. )OE THOMAS and DAN CAMPBELL stole it down in Great Falls this afternoon. You'll never guess who was driving it . . . No, who? . . . SINDY LARSON. They held her at gunpoint and made her leave the bus. . . . Hey, why is DAN RATHMAN carrying those milk and cookie trays all over the place? . . . I guess he still hasn't learned how to drink. I wonder where ROB JIMINEZ is tonight? . . . Well, he never could make it back from Mexico on Mondays. Have you seen LOREN LUINSTRA around? .. . I heard that he's going to start writing the Social Scene for the Acantha now that he's a distinguished novelist ... He finally hit the big time, huh? Look who just walked in, SCOTT NESBITT I hear he's coaching Basketball. . Yeah, he says he finds it easier than it was in high school, having to play and coach at the same time. ... I wonder why MONA HANSON isn't at the piano tonight . Didn't you hear? She's in the nursing home. ... Is that right? I guess she grew up a lot faster than the rest of us. Hey, didn't that beam just move? .. No, I think that's GEORGE JOSLYN. He sure made it good. Now he's Chief Surgeon at Boston Memorial. Speaking of turnarounds, have you heard what ROBERT CRANE is up to? I guess he works for the Billy Graham Crusades. . . . You never know, do you? Wow, what's that strobe light on so bright for? .. That's no strobe light, that's RUSS MILLS. He's a stunt man for Telly Savalas now. . . There's DOUG TANGEN and MICHELLE PERRY. What have they been up to? They're designing a new line of tugboats for the Puget Sound shipyards. Do you have any idea what CHRIS EVENSON has been doing? He went on a mission to Mongolia and hasn't been heard from since. Who was that that just walked in? ... That's JESSE CRAWFORD. He tried to play football but he quit and opened up a greenhouse specializing in roses. Have you seen CHRIS BLIXRUD around? .. She took over for Bruce Jenner doing the Wheaties commercials. I see ROSS SALMOND just staggered in. What's he been doing? . I'm not sure but I think he was Sales Manager at Pruitt's company. ... Jeez, it's no wonder they're going out of business. What's SHERYL VOISE doing now? . . . She has 36 kids. She organized them into a singing group and now they call themselves the Singing Voises. .. And there's CRAIG ZWERNEMAN............I hear he's the leading pick-up collector in the United States but things are slowing down because his mom is running out of money. .. Look at that, Hoover just collapsed on the floor Better get the incompetent nurse ANN HOGUE to look at him. ... I thought it was Ann Zier. . . Not yet, they're still engaged. She wouldn't know anything about inebriation. .. There's FRANK FORD. He found his fame at Frank Fords Fast Food Foosball Fantasy Farm in Fairfield. . . . What does MARY RICHARDS do now? . . . She's a bartender, brewing bubbling bourbons in Burbank. Speaking of bartending, how's JONI HOGE doing at )ohn Henry's now? . .. The sales were pretty slim until she lowered the drinking age to five. ... I hear LAURA BLIXRUD got a sizeable family. . . . Yeah, she's got little fellers running all over. Who was that that just walked out of the room? ... I think it was KATHY ARENSMEYER. She's running for Congress on the Independent ticket. . . .
