SCHILLER Superintendent Joseph Addison once stated, I consider a human soul without education Like marble in quarry, which shows none of its inherent beauties till skill of the polisher fetches out the colours, makes the surface shine, and discovers every or- namental cloud, spot and vein that runs through the body of it. His statement is as true today as it was over two centuries ago. Education is to the soul what a sculptor is to marble. Your school plays the role of the sculptor in molding your thoughts and ac- tions, in bringing out your true color, in making you shine, and in discovering every talent, every trait, and every characteristic that you possess. That is what education should mean, and that is what Choteau High School and its faculty have tried to make it mean to you. To the Seniors, may I give a hearty congratula- tions upon your graduation from Choteau High School. To those of you who are yet to graduate may the school offer a challenge to your best ef- forts and ambitions. School 'SoancC Front row; A. Jaumotte, Mrs. Salmon, L. Bums, W. Olsen. Standing: J. What's next? Attend college. Fanatic, as Freshmen, we were led by Rowley Raving that--- Sophomore's treatment unholy! Even-green ribbon in braid, lipstick, and P.J’s. Sophs, insisted without any lee-ways! Hovering over us like old mother hens. Making us cater to all of their yens. Envy followed us 'round on the spot, Nobody doubted we'd rise to the top! Surviving to Sophomores, we were led ably by Crary, Originating the C on the hill, we didn't let tarry. Pesky still, although more in the swing, Habits and grades still didn't mean a thing! Jumping right into the groove of things now. Under rank of Huffman, we continued to ploy. Never Been Kissed, class rings, and the Prom, It seemed as though we'd been hit by a bomb! Our class had three cheer leaders in representation. Right from the start they were sure a sensation! Say, --We made it, I guess you all know! Engineer Kahler helped continue our show. Notice: pictures, annual, and Here Come the Brides, In with school paper, and graduation besides! Out of your way, it seems we're going at last, Regret is tugging as we think of this past! Ladies and Gentlemen, Board of Education, Superintendent, Teachers, and Students: We, the Class of 1955, of Choteau High School, City of Choteau, County of Teton, and State of Montana, U. S. A., being of sound body and mind, do hereby declare this to be our last Will and Testament. We give and bequeath to our dearly beloved faculty, the amazing knowledge and information they may have acquired in our recitations; also this year's grade books, mute testimonials to our intelligence, ability, and industry. To the underclassmen we leave our shining example of the way they should go that they may behold, ponder, and to the best of their childish ability, imitate. Bubs Perkins wills his ability to go with one girl all through high school to John- nie Carlson. Hope you don't find it too boring Johnnie. Sandy Hanusa wills her deep tenor voice to Dede Wilson and Shirley Lusty. Dick Arensmeyer wills his blue Ford to Richard Page. Jacquie Slanger wills the quiet ways that were willed to her last year to Rose Kibbee. Jacquie never could seem to make use of them, maybe you can Rose. Janis Bueling wills her ability to maintain an A average to Marie Vance. John Kahler and Rachel Armstrong leave their seats on the Pendroy bus to Gayle,Arm- strong and Joe Lantz. No holding hands, please. June Baumgartner wills her habit of being late every noon to anyone who enjoys staying after school. Mary Truchot wills her flirtatious nature to Harriet Talifson. Patty Kade wills her Pepsodent smile to the Junior girls. Larry Davison wills his interest in photography to Leslie Wedum and Jack Peterson. Sharon George and Norita Murr will their shorthand speed to Pauline Richem and Maxine Yeager. Shirley Swenson and Ellery Crary leave the science department to Allene Hanson and Gene Henneford. Janet Huffman wills her lady-like ways to Sis Gebhart. Deanna Swenson wills her interest in home economics to Iris Hughes. Harley Yeager and Mike Anderson leave their ability to disagree with everything that's discussed at the class meetings to Gene Dantz and Alex Truchot. They also throw in their knowledge of parliamentary procedure. Nick Tomayer wills his ability to be the lover boy in the senior class play to Merle Hanson. Kirt George wills his splendid use of the English language to Jim Boadle. Dale Castle wills his nickname. Pinky, to Ed Lilleaas. Katherinette Malone wills her long hair to Joan Zgoda. Barbara Johnson wills her job at the Choteau Drug to Linda Groot. Don't expect to get rich quick. Joanie Brooks wills her ability to get married in her senior year to any junior who thinks they could handle the job. Wanneata McLoughlin wills her giggle to Marjorie LaRance. Fred Erickson wills his interest and talent in Drama to Wally Cherry. Howard Conquergood leaves his height to Charles Crane and Ora Knowlton. Don't fight, boys, there's plenty for both of you. Leo Rowley wills his conceited attitude to Ronnie Eklund. Larry Kibbee leaves American Literature Class without regret. Two years is a long time. Roy Snyder and Ray Anderson will their place on the basketball team to Wes Higgins and Jim Lohse. Jean Zier leaves her position as cheerleader to any junior girl who can do as well as Jean has. Harold Powers wills his manly physique to Charles Averi 11. Harold asks only to keep his shoulder pads. The prophecy for this class only proves what an illustrious, brilliant, and outstanding group was the Class of 1955. Jacquie Slanger, who was the nurse from Green Gables in the Sr. play, is now a nurse at Warm Springs. She says she enjoys her work immensely. Rachel Armstrong owns a $50,000 horse ranch in Colorado. She has lots of wranglers and a few horses, including the Black Stallion. Barbara Johnson is married, as everyone expected, to Jim Arensmeyer. Between her six children and trying to help Jim with the farming, she is rather busy. Harold Powers has just finished his tonsorial training and is now running his own clip joint (barber shop). His buddy, Dale Castle, owner of the Castle Clipper Company, has just invented a new kind of clipper for Harold. Larry Kibbee, who still hasn't decided on a girl, joined the army and has forgotten all girls. He just got an honorable discharge. Ray Anderson is trying to run his father's farm. In the meantime he is trying to think of a way to be a wrangler and move to Colorado. Leo Rowley, member of the symphony orchestra, has just returned from Paris, France with many high honors and a very beautiful French—oo-la-la—horn. Harley Yeager and Nick Tomayer are working together on a mad experiment, trying to invent a mechanical man that would go under water after the fish and bring them up al cleaned. Janis Bueling, the famous scientist, has already invented one, but she is goir to see if they can work it out. Shirley Swenson, the noted lawyer, and a graduate from Vassar, is working on a case that involved two people in a car accident. Norita Murr has souped up her Rolls Royce a little too much and she hit Mary Trembly's new Cadillac convertible. By the way, Mary is sole heir of the Cornell Hotel, Bar, and oil well. Katherinette Malone is married to Carter George, and while he is still trying to make P. F. C. in the Marines, she is keeping the homefires burning. Ellery Crary, the famous doctor, is still trying to find an easier way to perform opera- tions without anesthetic. The ether puts her to sleep. Roy Snyder, at last took the drastic step of matrimony, with Gayle. He even has a job digging onions for Kirt George, who owns the largest onion farm in Teton County, Wanneatta McLoughiin now owns her own restaurant in Shelby. She must be doing pretty well because she is driving a new car. June Baumgartner is teaching music to all the honey bubbles in the kindergarten. Her do, reh, mi is squeaking up to pitch. Larry Davidson is a great camera man for M.G.M. Studios. He hasn't done any of Marilyn Monroe yet, but he is still trying. Joan Brooks has kept up her twirling lessons. She is giving them to her four children while her husband. Bob, is away drilling for oil. Deanna Swenson is giving her demonstration on the Tasty Loaf over TV in New York. Her dough is really piling up. Howard Conquergood owns a cigarette factory and produces his own brand. His motto is It's not bad, it's Conquergood. Janet Huffman is married to Neal Bateman, and they are now living in Huffman's trailer in the North Fork of Teton Canyon. They are busy telling their triplets all about St. Olaf. Mike Anderson is now a full-fledged member of the Foreign Legion. He still practices boxing on the side, though--boxing oranges. Fred Erickson, who was a new member of the class, now has a job with Paramount. His last picture made him famous. His only line was, He went thatta way. John Kahler, banker, mayor, and street cleaner, of the growing city of Pendroy, has just been given another job to do. He has to keep those young punks horn making too much noise when they go to one of those Saturday night dances. Patty Kade liked the Indianapolis Speedway so much when she was back there, that she now owns a race car, and even drives it. Jean Zier of big 15 fame, now has a big fifteen—7 boys and 8 girls. A graduate from Dental school in California, she is starting a business of her own for her children in order to save money. By the way, she married Danny Undseth. Sharon George took over the Teton Pharmacy and now has a fountain in it. She can't get enough help so the kids fix their own drinks. Soft, eh? Sandy Hanusa and Bubs Perkins are very happily married. Sandy is pretty busy taking care of her six sets of twins, while Bubs is taking care of all the sheep twins. They really have a large family. LEIF LARSON President JACK PETERSON Vice President H.
