A great challenge was set before you, as you journeyed to Chatfield, Minn- esota, from your homeland, Japan, in order to bring about a better understanding between your homeland and ours. We feel that you have fulfilled this challenge, and we truly hope that we have assisted you in some way. May all your memories of Chatfield and the United States be very pleasant ones, as we are sure our memories of you will always pay a high tribute to you and to your country. 4 I JL SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION QW, ,ai G, R, I-IALVORSON St. Cloud State College, Univ. of Minn. STUDENT SENATE The Student Senate is the representative group of the student body which consists of two elected officials from each senior high class and one elected official from junior high classes. Also every club or organization has a representative in the Senate. The Student Senate's functions is to make recommendations and take action for the improvement of our school. It sponsors all homecoming activities such as: the coronation, bonfire, pepfest, parade, and the selling of Homecoming buttons. Other activities sponsored by the Student Senate are Christmas parties and the all school party. The Senate also buys a useful object for the school from the profits obtained from the magazine drive. The Senate elected Terry Nagel as president, Judy Iefferis as vice-president, and Vickie Nagel as secretary-treasurer. We the students of Chatfield High School, are proud of our representatives and the good job the Student Senate is doing for us. We are looking forward to many improve- ments in our school. 34- CDFFICE STAFF M Street, B Andersen, A Goldsrmth, D Bernard, J Jeffeus, M Martm, M Horan, J Thxeke, R Baker, K Klomps, G Baler, H Kalstabakken Mr Bernatz, Mr Haugen Hemker K Heroff, T Schroeder,I Meland, B Elhs, K Wurtzler, J Thxeke, J B1rch,B Ward, L Jachson, M Martm, M Da11y LIBRARY STAFF 35 SEATED--Miss Okerstrom. But what she does find is a bunch of psychological knots. This is the plot of the Junior Class Play on Friday, November 18, at 8:00 P.M. In The Little Dog Laughed we find Sid Huntington very much upset because his rival in the used-car business is going to snatch up the much-coveted dealership. Laurie 's mother is very nervous over the tea party she is giving to which the wife of the bank president has been invited. Wally Huntington is insisting on going steady with Joan Wood, Ted Deadwood Wood 's daughter. Laurie puts to use her psychological knowledge. Soon the family is shown their energy peaks and are going around with thermometers in their mouths and taking a variety of tests. All these incidents finish Wally's romance with Joan and the maid goes off to college. At her mother's tea party, Laurie administers The Zombrowski Ink Blot Test and exposes the inner personalities of each guest. When the family finds out they are listed as Assets and Liabilities, they decide to play a joke on Laurie. That evening when Laurie and her date come home, the family carries to rib-tickling extremes the actions and theories of her psy- chology. One crises leads to another, but when the play ends, all has been worked out and everybody is once again a big happy family. Director of the play was Mr. Fenwick. Student Director was Paul Cravath. I-IOIVIECOIVIING The homecoming festivities were as exciting as ever this year. Charlotte McMahon started our homecoming activities under way by crowning Queen Olivia Wright and King Les King. Attendants were Judy Severson, a junior and Nancy Amuqndson, a sophomore, with Shigeo Komatsu, our exchange student, as Honorary Prince. Preceding the coronation was a snake dance, the bonfire, and pep fest. The parade was held on the day of homecoming with all the grades participating. The seventh grade won first prize, the eighth grade took second prize, and the ninth grade won third. Climaxing the festivities was the victory over Preston and the annual Homecoming Dance, which was enjoyed by all. With the closing of the dance, another successful homecoming had come to a close.
