J.V. Braves Grow Up The 1983 ).V. Football team posted a 2-6 record. The record was not a full account of the total season. Several hard fought games were lost by a close margin. They started the season by losing to Lackey and Thomas Stone by considerable amounts. The team just didn't have it together according to Coach Charlie Baker. After those two losses they solved many personnel problems and bounced back the next week to defeat LaPlata 28-8. The streak continued with an exciting win over Leonardtown. Next was a game with the tough McDonough Rams. The Braves played well, but to no avail as they lost 26- 7. They played well the rest of the season against Northern, Calvert, and Great Mills but could not come up with a victory. The young Braves learned a lot during the season and most of all grew up with the help of Coach Glenn Richards.
