YVillianr A. Elges joined the Choate staff in 1926. Three years after his arrival, the YVinter Ex was con- structed. For the following seventeen years, Mr. Elges supervised the building, and the activities that went on in it. He then took over the duty of caring for the grounds, the tennis courts, and the athletic fields. As additional work, he chauffeured for the St. john family, At present, Mr. Elges's chores consist of watching over the game roonr and hockey closet in the cellar of the NVinter Ex during the winter term, and linrirrg the athletic fields in the spring and fall. He also raises the cut flowers that are used in the Chapel and in the dining hall. For the services that XVilliam A. Elges performs for the school, we owe him cr-ur fondest appreciation. for the past thirty-nine years, Helmer Anderson, the school carpenter has skillfully been building and repaint- ing miscellaneous items all oyer the campus.
