Pilar Alonso (Spain) ‘ ‘There are no extra activities or dances in our school, because it is just for education. The students that are in the same grade have to take the same courses. The students can not move along in the halls during periods. The teachers move from class to class. We have four hours of school in the morning (9:30-1:30). and three classes in the afternoon. I think American schools are much better than Spanish schools, because the relationships be- tween the students and the teachers are more keeping in the American schools. Mikko Latvala (Finland) “In my country we have 15 minutes between each period. Our highschool is only for three years. I am in the biggest school in Finland, which has only 650 people. In lunch, we have very different food. We don't have hamburgers and french fries! “We get to leave our classroom when ever we want. We have fine minutes between classes and alot of breaks. We stay with the same group of people. There are few school activities and a longer school day. We start at 8:00 and end at 3:00 or 4:00. Our school is between high school and college. We also need much higher qrades for college and there are fewer colleges in Sweden. Michelle “Mitch Jarvis (Australia) “In Australia, school starts at the end of Febru- ary and goes through mid December. Everyday we have a different schedule of classes. The classrooms are separate from each other. The school year is made up of three terms of about 12-14 weeks with two week long breaks in be- tween them. School starts at 9:00 and ends at 3:30. We also have to wear school uniforms. Oyvind Roarsen (Morway) “In our school, the teacher changes rooms for classes, not the students. In your school here. I feel like a part of it, I have a sense of belonging. In my school you do not because after classes are done, school is done. If you want to be in a sport, you have to go to a club. Ricardo Qnecco (Columbia) “ The schools have many differences but both are very interesting. My school in Columbia is just for men and this is boring sometimes. The teachers here are good persons too, they are very interested in knowing about me. Juan Obando (Columbia) Petra Karlegard (Sweden) “My school in Bogota. Columbia is very differ- ent. The classes are longer than here and the students don't have to change classrooms for each period. I'm having a good time and hope to get my diploma from Chittenango. So the time we re apart is not so long. Though we may seem a ways away It's really not that far. We share the sun, a common moon. And wish upon the stars. We Know right where you are So it's really not that far. I know that I could never forget your smile If we were separated by a million miles.
