PASTO The graduating class of 1982 would like to dedicate this year- book to Mrs. Nella Pasto. She has been known to most students for teaching various Social Studies courses, including Psychology and Sociology. However, Mrs. Pasto has been more than just a teacher. Put- ting all her personal problems aside, she has devoted much of her free time to solving our problems. Be it social, academic, or family difficulties, Mrs. Pasto has always come up with good answers. Despite her motherly attributes, she gives advice as if she were a close friend and keeps conversations in the strictest of confidence. Her absence in the fall made us realize how empty our lives would be without her divine knowledge and guidance. We hope to see her smiling face in the halls of C.C.S. for many years to come. 2 MR. McCANN Although Mr. Mr(jnn ha only been teaching Social Studies at C.C.S. for a couple of years. hi name is very familiar to all of u . lie take on many responsibilities including Junior Claw adviiior and coor- dinator of the Harvest Dinner. Beside this, he coaches the boys' foot- ball and basketball teams, and the girls' track team. Iflis famous words, “I K A BOZO, will echo in our minds for many years. We wish to remember him for his truly unique personality and enthusiasm. Thanks. Mr. McCann, for making these last few years memorable. MR. SMITH The Class of I982 would like to show their appreciation to Coach Smith. Not only did he help bring our freshman football team to an undefeated season three years ago. but he is always there to give us help in solving our problems and to lend encouragement in our daily tasks. And we shall never forget one of his sayings: No, winning isn't everything, but if someone has to lose, let it be the other guy. For all of these things we thank you. Mr. Smith. APPRECIATION MR. SMOLNYCKI Everyone in the music department can appreciate the hard work Mr. Smolnycki puts in each year. Besides directing the band and musical orchestra, he has recently expanded the department by adding a Dixieland Band. It's obvious that he does more than his job requires. He's always willing to give up his lunch period to make up lessons. We, the Class of 1982, will remember him for his dedication, and his love of Chopsticks. ADMINISTRATION To The Class of 1982, At commencement you will reach one plateau in your lives. You should be proud of this achievement and at the same time realize that there are other hills to climb. I hope that each of you will be able to achieve success and happiness in your lives without doing so at the expense of others. I wish you good health and happiness in your future. To The Class of 1982: For twelve years you have been a member of a mini-society for several hours each day. Your personal and social responsibilities here have been allowed to grow slowly. Consciously or subconsciously you have passed many portals and you now stand on the last threshold here, ready to pass into a society from which there are no vacations and where the requirements are the same for all. Our job is done, yours is just beginning. The competition will be great regardless of your endeavors but your success will be measured only by your level of personal and social responsibility. Although your paths may separate here, you still touch each other through the society you create. Your time has come — your contributions and responsibilities to society are expected, may they give you great pride. u{iLjfnUk William A. Moth William A. Brian Barn™. Michael P. Schmidt. Elio Mariani. FOREWORD We all have at leaat one goal in life — a rainbow we want to build. We often rely on past experiences and acquaintances to guide us and to help us attain our goals. On June twenty-sixth, the Senior Class will reach one goal — graduation. However, we could not achieve this honor without experiencing all that we did this last year. This year's Palladium commemorates our Senior year and the rainbows we tried to build. The theme, Memories are rainbows that soon fade, but reoccur in a special way,” was chosen because every time we open our 1982 Palladiums, we will relive a part of our lives that fades with each passing year. — L.M.B.— ft 6 TEACHERS HELPING STUDENTS Mrs. Kennedy Mrs. Webber Mrs. Ivers Mr. Sweeney 10 That's the last button I'll ever buy!
