Text from Pages 1 - 184 of the 1981 volume:

. . .foreword It is time for us to fly. Just as a young bird must finally leave his nest, so must we. It is time for us to move on and explore new territories. We will find independence, as we break the ties that hold us from our freedom. We will strive to reach our goals and climb higher. And as we open our lives to what the future brings, the winds may sweep through our doors and lift us far into the sky . . . — D. Goux Mr. Kirschenheiter t 4 For every one of life's adages and bits of sage philosophy, there is an exception which proves the rule. Our regard for Mr. Kirsch is an exception to the saying that “you never really appreciate what you have until you lose it.” We appreciated Mr. Kirsch because he did everything well: As a coach — he had winning teams, but he also won the love and respect of his athletes. As a teacher — he imparted a thorough knowledge of sci- ence, but he did so with a sense of humor that made his stu- dents his loyal fans. As a friend — he counseled those who needed advice, but he alw ays had time for all of us. We appreciated Mr. Kirsch. This dedication is our attempt to express the thanks we owe him. fumor 'r furoni Way 3, 1980 QUEEN Jean Bennett KING Timothy Jaxmin PRINCESS Janet Knickerbocker ESCORT Jeffrey Perrone PRINCESS Karen Overton ESCORT David Martin Administration To the Class of 1981: My best wishes go with you as you move on to the next phase of your lives. 1 have confidence in you, as a group of young people, and know that each of you will make your mark in our world. The past thirteen years have been valuable to you and I hope each graduate is able to recall many fond memories. 1 chal- lenge each of you to create more special memories in your future years. Best of luck to each of you. Principal — Harold W. Talbot. Jr. To the Class of 1981: As a senior graduating from Chittenango High School, you have a lot to be proud of — five years of hard work, a growing spirit of pride in not only the school but yourselves, and a feeling of accomplish- ment for a job well done. Each one of you will look back on your experiences and draw fond memories from them. It is my sincere hope that what you have learned here at Chittenango will help to further your occupa- tional or educational aspirations. Much time, thought, and planning have gone into preparing you for what lies ahead. Use what you have been taught to make your life and lives of others around you fruitful and rewarding. An I.
