Text from Pages 1 - 192 of the 1973 volume:

PALLADIUM 1973 Fowujoa I We have grown into this groove, Now the time has come for us to leave and go on to another. Eventually, we must leave that, and continue on to yet another. It is our destiny to continue until we are unable to do so any longer. To search our whims, our wishes, and our goals. Though one goal may be attained, we must always strive to find yet another, and by working with our fellow men, this may be reached, no matter what its height. Jon Christopher We the class of ’73 would like to show our gratitude to Robert Prenevost for his leadership. 6 Our Senior Class would like to thank Donald Bligh for the time and effort he has given to our class and our fellow classmates. To the Class of 1973, Please accept my personal congratulations upon your graduation from high school. We hope that your choice in the years ahead will bring you rewards in many ways. This generation has been often told that it is more important to give of oneself in the development of man- kind than work to accomplish personal wealth. I believe this philosophy is commendable, but should not be misun- derstood. Many of the great humanitarians in our history have accomplished both. It is not wrong to work toward and enjoy material things as long as you do this in a way that does not violate humanitarian philosophies. Your way of life can well be a matter of choice in your goals, accom- plishments, and actions. My best wishes go out to you and your families as you leave Chittenango High School. I hope you will find your way back to visit us from time to time so that we may know a little more about the choices you have made. Sincerely, Warren E. Jerome High School Principal Dear Graduates of 1973, Please accept my congratulations upon your graduation from high school. I trust that as you leave the high school community to enter post-graduate education, or other endeavors of your choice, that you do so willing to accept the responsibilities, as well as the privileges, that will be yours. Charles F. Seamans Assistant Principal Junior-Senior High School 8 To The Class of 1973: The record shows your class has had many and varied achievements over the past years in the Chittenango Central School. I have followed your endeavors very closely and am proud to be a part of them, both as a parent of one of the seniors and as the ihief school administrator in our school district. The time has come now to put your talents to work as you choose your field of employment. Some will go to work ''Imlfiediately, others will pursue further education, and still others will enter the services. All have a job to do in the future in making our communities a more happy and secure place to live. My best wishes and congratulations to you and your parents or guardians for your accomplishments and in the future. Sincerely yours, Robert J. Hughes Superintendent of Schools 9 Hail to Alma Mater May she ever stand Always be surrounded By a loving band And in faithful homage Always we’ll come back To the days we spent there 'Neath the Red and Black To our Alma Mater Always we’ll be true And perhaps we’ll wander All the wide world through And in loving homage Always we’ll come back To the days we spent there 'Neath the Red and Black In this fair small village May she ever stand; Always be surrounded By a loving band As the Senior Class From her portals flow Always we’ll remember Her as Chittenango. 10 Qtafo Mincstroni” Tom A. My journey to Norway was full of learning and new friends. Takk for visit Walk together, talk together Hei sa lenge Joan Joan went to Norway Roberta went to Turkey Walk together Talk together, All ye people of the earth Then, and only then Shall we have peace. This is the A.F.S. slogan. Mersin Turkey was a wonderful place for me to try the slogan out. I did lots of talking and lots of walking with people from all over the earth, and it’s so interesting to see how people from so many different cultures can express the exact same meaning for peace all in different languages. 98 FiM Q UMJC QuA 7b tCju , Owl PtifiKcl Pio k B gOtm L New York State is only a small part of America but, even so, it is larger than England. Through A.F.S. I have learned what internationality really is. This year has been truly happy, and I have met so many won- derful people both of the community and students from abroad. Previously, America was only the wild west, or the big cit- ies. Chittenango is neither and the experiences by living here have been ones 1 want never to forget.
