The Lake Street School, the oldest school building in use in the district, was built in 1927, replacing the Yates Acad- emy as the major secondary school in the area. In the thirty- seven years during which it has served as a school, the building has been the scene of much activity. Several of our parents attended the school during the early years of its use, and some of our younger relatives attend it today.
