EDITORIALS All the world's a stage; Every man in his time plays many parts — Shakespeare For the past twelve years, we, the graduating class of 1957, have played many roles in the first act of our lives—education. Now, th curtain is about to go up on a most important second act. In this act, young men and women will seek more education, vocations or marriage in an attempt to better the theater in which they are acting. This theawr is our America. Geer CLASS HISTORY In January of 1954 76 excited freshmen entered the new high school building to complete their laA four years of studies and activities. In September we had crosen as our class officers: President, Virginia Tuttle; Vice President, Wayne Wilsey; Secre- tary, Barbara Hofmann; Treasurer, Ju y Voaburgh. Maureen Blasier was the leading squad. We ended the year looking forw our forthcoming year as sophomores. In our sophomore year, we el Mary Darling; Vice President, Bernard Townsend; Secretary, Eileen Sielow; Treasurer, Arlene Dwyer. Our enrollment in September numbered sixty-one. We were divided into three sections with Mr. Bazydlo, Mrs. Marcy, and Mr. Pasley as our advisors. We planned to make a success f all our activities. The first dance was the Pizza Party dance .with Deanna Panebianco and Charles McJury as co-chairmen. Yesf the biggest venture of the year, the one which boosted our tfeasury considerably, was the first annual Chicken Dinner Dance, iileen Sielow was the chair- man. We also had a bake sale whichjlproved to be quite profitable. Again our class contributed athletes to the school teams with nineteen boys who participated in two sports. In the cheerleading squad were Maureen Blasier, as a ,Varsilv cheerleader, and Ma Darling, Carlita Gillmeister, and Deapna in ,n the our advisors. At Mid-term a vie dance on November tured the Ozark Mountain active in sports: Peter DeVaul, Bernard Town- son, Mike Hogan, John buck McJury, Carl Harlan, ick Benedict and Wayne freshman on the cheer- with high expectations to as our officers: President, Again, our boys gave their abilities to C.C.S. sports. The Junior girls who were on the Jay-Vee Cheerleading squad were: Barb Kinahan, Barb Hofmann, Carlita Gillmeister, and Eileen Sielow. On the Varsity Squad was Mary Darling This was also the year we elected the 1957 Palladium staff and started work on the first sixteen pages. The class chose Virginia Tuttle as editor. She moved to Syracuse in October and was replaced by David Geer. Mr. Pashley was the Yearbook advisor. We ended the year with an all out dues drive followed by the annual picnic at Green Lake State Park. We were all looking forward to the coming senior year with great hopes of graduation. But in September 1956, when we became Seniors, we realized that this wasn't time for a slacking off period, but rather a time for hard work in completing the arrangements for Washington, keeping up with studies, planning for graduation and the future— it seemed as if we never had a spare moment to |ust sit and rest We elected as our officers: President, David Geer; Vice President, Bill Wilkenson; Corresponding Secretary, Carlita Gillmeister; Re- cording Secretary, Denna Pandbianco; Treasurer, Arlene Dwyer. Our advisors were Mr. Bazydlo and Miss Burt. We had a host of activities confronting us but faced them mmt ’ “ (Play, ''Time Out for Ginger, Sp-nelll. CLASS HISTORY Upon entering our Junior year we elected as officer : President, Pat Fox; Vice President, Harry Wilson; Secretaries, Carol Sidoran and Carol Jardine; Treasurer, Barbara Smith. The first big event was the arrival of our class rings. ... , „ . u „ . Tl Our first dance sponsored by the Juniors was the Masquerade Ball which was affiliated with the annual Rotary Club Halloween party. The chairman was Bruce Wesseldine. We held our annual Club '58 dance on November 9 with Diane Cooper as Chairman. On January 19 we presented the Rock and Roll Fair with Bill Thorpe as disc jockey. An important feature was the selling of school |ackets and sweatshirts. The co-chairmen were Margo Elmer and James liable. , . , . . ... From the week of February 25 to March 3 we canvassed the Town of Sullivan for the Community Council s annual fund raising drive. This was led by Ted Townsend. „ On March 22 at 8:15 the curtain went up for our Junior Play, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay. One of the highlights of the Junior year was the Junior Prom held on May 24. Our class was also well represented in sports and extracurricular activities.
