Diana Lynn iDee-Deei Bott also made the honor of the All-American team. Dee-Dee is undoubtedly one of the most outstanding athletes ever to attend Chippewa Valley. She was a strong asset to team athletics, as she was a member of the Basketball team in the fall, Volleyball in the winter, and Softball in the spring. In four years at Chippewa, Dee-Dee earned 12 Varsity letters. She was one of the most exceptional pitchers the Softball team had ever seen, and was equally impressive on the basketball court. Frosh Volleyball Debuts 1979 marks the debut of Chippewa's Freshman Volleyball team. Coach Denise Lenders, a former student of Chippewa, taught the girls the basics of volleyball. This was no easy task, for many of the girls had never touched a volleyball before the first practice. Their win-loss record reflects only the strength of the competition. Since very few schools have Freshman teams, the girls were forced to play more experienced opponents. With a season of play under their belts, the girls will toughen next year's junior Varsity team.
