Freshmen Football Stands Tall Chippewa Valley's freshman football team had a tough season this year. A hard working coach, and a lot of effort by the team helped them to play tough and keep themselves going. Despite their record, the Big Reds showed much promise and enthusiasm for next years j.V. and Varsity. The Oakland A is a tough league, and there was a lot of individual effort by each of the teammates. We look forward to a good junior Varsity team next year. ' Nt W . . A r Hint- ,. f SW . Girls T ' ' l The Girls Tennis team and its coach, Ms. Cheryl Slowiczek, ended the season on a very positive note. The team's over-all win-loss record was ll-3, with an Oakland A League record of 11-1. This league record earned the team the All-League Championship trophy. Recognition was also attained when Chippewa hosted the League Meet, for the team won a trophy for com-ing in 'first place. Other awards received by members of the team include ennls, League Champs Most Valuable Player , won by ninth grader Anne Marie Floreno. Her record at first singles position was 14-0 and her presence was greatly appreciated by the team. Theresa Kozlowski, an llth grader and a co-captain, also had a very good year by winning the 4th singles position at the League Meet. Winning the third flight doubles position was the team of Terri Hauer and julie Houthoofd. The team looks forward to another good season in 1979. r
