ln 1972, Mr. Berndt took over the instrumental music program at C.V.H.S. At that time the program had 90 students in two bands. Today there are 160 students in 4 bands and classes. They are: Stage Band, Symphony Band, Concert Band, Marching Band, Percussion class, Brass class and Woodwind class. For the first time the band has received a first division rating. Since that, the band has received two more first division ratings. Last year for the first time, the Concert was entered and received a second division. Interest in band, and a large enrollment has inspired Mr. Berndt to start a new band next year called the Varsity Band. hw 2 3 The Flag Girls perform well during the Homecoming week this year. They areg Marge Smith, Cindy Guestello, Debbie Werner, Laura jenicek, Losa Zoli, Luanne Lawrence, Lisa Coccia, Debbie Lemons, Laura Lechleitner, Maria Valenti, Sue Ritz. Drama, Better Than Ever Drama Club at C.V.H.S. has grown immeasurably. Over the last eight years, the club's reputation has grown to excellence throughout the state, by the direction of Miss Konrad. The very successful club still maintains the basic principles needed to have a good club. Every member of drama is part of a special family that loves the theatre. With a fantastic production of The Bear the club broke all the school records by winning two trophies, four superior awards and two excellent certificates. I.
