Those Were the Days My Friend We Thought They'd Never End ln a mirage of empty Buscemi pizza boxes, aspirin bottles and used Ko-rec-type, we can see scrapped layouts, unuseable copy and fuzzy pictures. Yes, those WERE the days of sleepless nights spent cramming months of work into one long scissors cutting away at pictures, headlines, and clustercuts. Last but not least, we could hear that familiar voice saying, Oh boy, did you know the deadline was yesterday? Yes, it was the sound of our fearless leader M Nlr. Hoot eman. How he ever finished evening. The days that seemed like an assembly line production as the this year still intact has us wondering. work was passed through its stages. At the head of the line, you'd find editors with their trusted pica rulers and blue pencils forming the layouts, the foundation of our So as the mirage dims and a finished product comes into sight, all that's left is memories and a cupboard full of empty returnable pop cans, mutilated rulers and dull yearbook.
