Debate is scholastic and interscholastic. Scholastic means it is a class which is taught during the school day. ln Debate class the students learn the fundamentals of debating, which includes researching and learning good speaking skills. lnterscholastic means the team competes against different schools. Accent on Sports This year's Varsity Club has had a full schedule including: Putting on a dance, running the concession stand, taking a trip to the Virginia Slims Tennis Championship, and Mr. Birch and Mr. Phillips taking the club to the NCAA Track and Field Championship. The Varsity Club has also worked with the Special Olympics and put on a benefit for the American Cancer Association. it VARSITY C LUB
