'Sing, Sing a Song' Choir involves a lot more than just singing. Many other skills can be learned. As music is a form of communication, it requires expression and precision in order to be effective. Students are taught to put emotion into their songs and to appeal to the audience. Without these expressions the music is meaningless and cold. Stage techniques and self control are learned through performing. A unique experience that is available to the Madrigal Ensemble is the chance to perform frequently for the community. As Madrigals is a small group they usually all pile into Director Mrs. Bowen's van and head for a hospital, cluq, or other types of organizations or institutions to perform. The other choirs perform at the more formal programs. It takes more coordination to produce a harmonic sound from so many people. Some specific activities of this year's choirs included a tour of Chicago and Indiana, a Christmas concert, a Fall Follies performance, and the production of an all school musical. The officers behind some of this work are: jim Houthoofd, presidentg jeanne Taylor, vice president, Deanna Swindell, secretary, Ann Sleziak, treasurer.
