Hup Two, Three, Four This year's marching band was the beSt we've had in the history of Chippewa, commented Mr. Berndt. The band's have competed in many competitive endeavors this year. Three new classes have been added to the band section: They are brass, percussion, and woodwind. This year's drum maiorettes were Maureen Comerford and Patty Rosteck. 1. Mr. Berndt is leading the way during the Homecoming Parade. 2. Keep those lines straight. 3. Rene Comerford intently studies Mr. Berndt's hand. 4. Mr. Berndt directing the Symphony Band. 'Play It Again, Stage Band' You can't find Stage Band in the list of classes, but you can' find Stage Band working hard from 7:00 to whenever on Wednesday nights. The students in Stage Band are there on their own time, getting no credit for it but getting a lot of enjoyment. Mr. Cardeccia, the director, isn't getting paid for it but he, too, is finding a lot of enjoyment working with the group. Stage Band is expanding its' horizons too. They're not only playing at home basketball games, Fall Follies and Band Concerts, but at banquets, beauty pageants, festivals lthey got a ll Division their first timei, on the steps of the Capitol at Lansing, and their own concert in May. lt's a lot of hard work but to all those involved it's worth it.
