FRIDA Y NIGHT FEVER A psyched Chipps football team exploded into the season with a first game victory over the Northwest lndians, 33-8. The Dalton game, one of the most intense of the season, was a struggle be- tween tough offensive strategies and super-tough defenses. As re- ported by the Wooster Daily Record, 'Tears were streaming down the faces of the Doylestown Chipps at midfield. Dalton players consoling the Chipp players, but also congratulating themselves. Both teams were helping their wounded off the fieldf' The Chipps . fell to defeat by a narrow margin. The final score: Chipps 3, Bull- ,, dogs 6. As a result, Doylestown concluded the season with a satisfying second place in the W.C.L. The Sportsmanship Award was presented by the Doylestown Pride to Mike Williams, and Phil Sales was given the Mutt Stevens Award. Jerry Busson ranked as Most Valuable Player.
