STRAIGHT SHOOTERS Chippewa girls basketball ended the season with a 3-3 Wayne County League record and a 5-7 overall record. The 77-78 season opened with a close win over Akron South, but then they dropped to a l-4 record before winning again. Norwayne was the highlight of the Chipps schedule. With the boys varsity in the race against Norwayne the girls game also proved to have excitement ofits own. An upset special, the Chipps managed to put together their best game of the season, dropping the Norwayne Bobcats 54-48. 1 i i 1 MORE TEAMS Fighting Chipps reserve basketball team, led by Coach Dick Miller survived a hard-fought season with a 15-3 overall and 12-2 leauge record to capture a first place title in the W.C.L. shared with Dalton. JV team members accumulated the best rec- ord in many years, an accomplishment to be proud of. Sophomore team, coached by Bill Wallace, achieved a 2-4 record against a schedule of tough opponents. Determi- nation, skill, and aggressive battles against their rivals brought to these young men a satisfying season to reflect upon.
