SUCCESS AT SECTIONALS Being a contender for the Wayne County League championship wasnlt expected of this year's varsity basketball team, but near the end of the season it was the Chipps, Bobcats and Bulldogs in a three-way tie for first. A surprise defeat by the Rittman Indians knocked them down but they got back on their feet to keep them- selves in the race. In an exciting, physical game, the Chipps fell to the Norwayne Bobcats, ruining the hopes of first place in the League. The C.H.S. varsity entered Canton Fieldhouse psyched spir- ited, and ready to rough up Loudenville on February 15. 2 V J MY HEART You're in My Heartf' a pop hit by Rod Stewart, served as the theme to the 1977-78 basketball homecoming. The three seniors nominated for queen were Diana Cook, Carol Morgan, and Dianna Troyer. Escorted by seniors Jerry Underwood and Tom Pappas, Queen Diana Cook was crowned and received a kiss from her two escorts. The fighting Chipp basketball team came up with a victory for the court, defeating Smithville 78-76.
