Chipp Thespians present meet me in St. Louis Mr. Smith is being sent to New York to be the head of the plant office. When he breaks the news to his family, they are appalled. They don't want to move from St. Louis because the World's Fair is about to begin. The children act like hoodlums to prove their father can't even manage his own family . They outrage Mr. Smith's boss to the point that he fires their father. Mr. Smith eagerly waits to be called back to work. With the children trying to handle the situation, Mr. Smith hears nothing of the disastrous consequences until the night of the fair. When his boss asks him to return to the St. Louis office, he offers him a raise. Excited with the news, the family leaves for the fair - the cream of the world .
