TOWN FLORIDA OUR TOWN Its not a big place. Kinda' lost in the wilds of Northwest Florida. A few Depart- ments and some filling stations. Its not a modern place. Kinda' quiet and filled with relics of the past. Gotta' lot of prejudice and a few old-fashions. It s not a great place. Nothing famous ever happened here. But it holds a special place right here in my heart. It s not a lovable place. Everyone's not as friendly as they would or could be. But I feel I'd kinda' yearn for it if I ever had to part. by REBECCA RHODES TO SENIOR CLASS I960: It has been my happy privilege to be prinicipal of the Washington County High School for the twelve years you have been in school. The memories of these years with you will always be very dear and precious to me. Our fervent hope is, that we, as a faculty and administration, have helped you to be earnest and thoughtful in arriving at decisions; firm and fair in your convictions; considerate of your fellow men and their beliefs, decisive and logical in organizing plans; and with the desire to do something worthwhile. It is our hope also that in the future you may be able to look back upon these years as the brightest and happiest of your life. You are fortunate to be finishing high school at a time when a look toward the future shows a brighter horizon than has appeared to any of the classes which have gone before you for a period of many years. There is yet unrest in the world, but we seem to be passing out of a long period of war, depression, and international political misunderstanding into an era when more countries are attempting to work together to solve the social, economical and political problems of the world. More opportunities in the field of business and in professions are open for the well-trained young men and women than ever before in the history of the world. As students in this school you have taken advantage of your opportunities. I have all confidence that you will continue to do so. To the Paw Print staff, I offer my congratulations for another fine year- book. Surely this yearbook, which has been so carefully prepared, will in years to come bring back priceless memories. To all Seniors May the Lord bless thee and keep thee: The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace . . . Numbers 7:24-26. Sincerely yours. Colly V. Williams, Principal Washington County High School Dedication The Senior Class proudly dedicates the 1960 PAW PRINTS to Mrs. Lila Castle, who has reigned over her classrooms with poise and dignity. Her lofty ideals are deeply implanted into the lives of her former students as well as those she teaches today. A perfect woman, nobly plann'd To warn, to comfort, and command And yet a spirit still, and bright With something of angelic light WORDSWORTH IN MEMORY of BOBBY MILLER A laughing friend from us is gone, A voice we loved is fled. But faith and memory lead us on. He lives: he is not dead. Senior Play Seniors Choose Austin Play In the 18th century, having five daughters and very little money was a serious obstacle to any mother, even if the daughters were lovely. In the play, I Have Five Daughters, Mrs. Bennet is faced with this problem. In fact, her one aim in life is to see all her daughters married. The only trouble, however, is that those who love their suitors can't get them to propose, while those who are proposed to do not care for their suitors. Finally, the youngest daughter elopes and starts a hilarious chain reaction. Everyone is satisfied in the end. I HAVE FIVE DAUGHTERS . . .
