Dear Students: 1 9 The day of graduation for the class of '59 seems destined t j be an uncertain one. Your future course cannot be safely charted until our world has regained and adopted the ideal, Peace on earth, good will toward man. This ideal may be attained through your efforts, or it may have to await the assistance 6f your sons and daughters. As we speak of peace, we are conscious of other sounds from afar—sounds not peaceful. We are told of the horrible aspects of scientific warfare. The leaders of nations are meeting to try to preserve peace, while at the same time1 the scientists of each are working around the clock to surpass others in perfecting weapons of war. These are the sounds of nations at war. Prepare yourselves as thoroughly as you can to live efficiently in this highly scientific and technical age. Yet, when- ever you have an opportunity to express your wish, or make a choice, choose to follow the teachings of the Gentle Man of Galilee. We, the administration and faculty of the Washington County High School, are grateful for the privilege of asso- ciating with you. You have made this school symbolic of friendliness, cooperation, high scholastic standing, efficient student government, and many other worthwhile attainments. To the present and past students of the Washington County High School, I send greetings and best wishes. To the senior class of 1959, I offer my congratulations for another fine yearbook Paw Prints. Someday you will share its memories with your own children. We sincerely hope that they, too, will have the opportunity that you have been privileged to enjoy. May success, happiness, peace, and contentment be yours throughout all your days. Sincerely yours. Colly V. Williams Principal, Washington County High School
