Carnival activities began at 7:00 on November 16 in the Vo-Ag Room of the high school. Many games were set up by the various classes and clubs. The F.H.A. provided food for all at the Sugan Shack,” and the F.F. A.'s bingo was a real hit. The variety show this year was one of the best yet. The Hi-Liners sang and king Chuck (Hewitt) accepted adulation from his inferiors. Vonnie Gates gave a humorous solo and the Speech and Drama Club put on a skit. King candidates were picked for the first time this year at C.H.S. The winning king and queen for 1974 were from the Junior Class in Bill Barber and Nellie Jo Schellin. Princesses and Princes were Seniors Betty Doney and Brett Chapman; Sophomores Chris Lybeck and Buzz Steinmetz; and Freshman Kellie Funk and Bill Burkhartsmeyer. Because of the winning attitude of the classes, this years' carnival was the most successful one ever. 20
