Disappointment in Defeat One of the highlights of the school year. Homecoming, was held on September 23, 1972. The festivities got off to a roaring start with the bonfire Thursday night. The excitement mounted as the hushed auditorium awaited the cor- onation announcement. Amid cheers and tears, Sheri Conner and Rich Stuker were crowned Homecoming Queen and King. Their attendants were Marcia Rusch, Dan Jamieson, Patti Scott, Tony Seamons, Sandi Lenhardt, and Mickey Mellet. Things began to get even hotter. Kan- garoo Court had to be cut short, and the chance to uncover the shady past of students was lost forever. The band led off the parade, and the floats followed. It was clearly evident whose class had worked, and the juniors easily swept the entries. The game with the Cut Bank Wolves climaxed the week. The Beeters' hots were cooled off as they went down in defeat, 14-0. ss?? 24 25 ROW ONE: Coach Herb Kimball, Ted Kimball, Bob Michalson, Matt Harshman, Dan Davies, Kyle Conroy, Darrell Berglund, Assistant Coach Ted Schye. They were only able to post a 2-6 record but were never out of any ball game. The season started out with an inspiring victory over Harlem. The next week against Fort Benton, they came from behind to tie the game only to lose it in the final minutes. Cut Bank scored two quick TD's and hung on to win the Home- coming game. At Browning, the Beeters massacred the Indians. Chi- nook led Shelby most of the way, only to lose in the final minutes. Malta snuffed out a late Beeter rally with an interception in a thriller. The champion Conrad Cow- boys trailed at halftime, but came back to claim victory. In the final game, Choteau jumped off to an early lead and then held off a late Beeter rally. Tony Seamons was elected team captain. Richard Stuker made first team all confer- ence both ways. Tony Seam- ons, Grant Willman, and Chris Thomas made the sec- ond team. 27 J. V. Many people feel that in the next few years the girls’ cage tournament will outstrip the boys in 1) enthusiasm, 2) spectator appeal, 3) sports- manship. The coaches agreed that girls are more emotional but love to participate. 30 VARSITY MEMBERS: ROW ONE: Ann McClintock, Debbie Chapman, Beth Harbolt, Leanne Taylor, Mau- reen MacLean. The shop area was filled with people who were provided with a wide range of entertainment. Bingo returned after a year's absence and the other games of chance were enjoyed. For the variety show the band put on a skit and did a musical number. Joyce Brown and Jean Brewer of the Speech Club followed with dra- matic readings. To top it off the Highliners sang. To climax the show, Sophomore candidate Joni Barber was crowned Carni- val Queen 1972. Princesses were: Freshman Becky Funk, Junior Lome Ehlang and Senior Cindy Jamieson. Jr. Play . . . Bachelor Needs Wife The Junior Play, Natilie Needs a Nightie was a three act com- edy about a bachelor who was try- ing to find a wife and a baby in order to keep his job. It portrayed his hectic life while he was trying to fool his boss. Everyone in his building plus a few outsiders got in the act. No one seemed to know exactly what was going on; consequently it turned out to be a real riot.
