THE ANNUAL STAFF OF 19G6 PRESENTS III I miiiiillili SJIJS ■■■■► iiiii if Illi THE CHINOOK BREEZE DEDICATION The Senior Class dedicates their 1966 Annual to Mrs. Naomi Ingwalson. She has always devotedly given of her time as Chapter Advisor for the Future Homemakers of America and as head of the Chinook High School Home Economics Department. Mrs. Ingwalson's interest in the students she taught, and her deep concern in the student’s welfare, shall be remembered by many. 2 CONTENTS SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE To the Seniors of ”66 I must now say farewell with a deep feeling of remorse. You were freshmen my first year in Chinook and for four short years I have carefully watched you develop physically and academically far beyond our expectations. Your cooperation, friendliness, attitude and desire to achieve will long be remembered. This fine annual will serve as a momento of you and your fine achievements while students at Chinook High School, and I will be watching your progress with much pride as you enter your chosen professions. May I close by saying, If you consistently do your best, the worst won't happen. Farewell and May God be with you. 4 C. M. To the Juniors we bequeath our intelligence and wisdom. The Sophomores are to be presented with our dynamic leadership and radiant personalities. In all sincerity, we feel that it is our duty to bestow our maturity and insight to the Freshmen. Appointed administrators of this will are Mr. Amos Denney and Mr. Floyd Bowen, our faithful sponsors. Out of the magnitude of our hearts we wish to make the following individual wills and testaments. ROBERT ANDERSON wills his car to anyone who can understand it. CANDICE BAHR confers her Monday morning breaks from school upon anyone who can get away with it as well as she did. TED BENNER wills his night life to any deserving owl. SUE BRAINARD wills her ability to keep a boy waiting in every hi-line town to Betty Matulka and hopes that she will have as much fun as Sue did. DEAN BRINKMAN bequeaths his nice manners to Greg Jerguson. Won't that be nice girls? ALICE CONRAD bestows her ability to keep her hair in place while cheerleading to Nancy Brainard. CHARLES BROOKE confers his ability to get along with the superintendent, Mr. Brooke, upon his little sister, Shirley Brooke. GEORGIANN BROWN doesn't will anything. She's giving it all to Chauncy. DEBRA DRONEN bestows her quiet country ways on Sheri Unruh-now there will be peace in the north country. REGINA FEIST wills her laugh to Mr. Upshaw. Now maybe he can fake it like he's got a little life in him. DARLENE FELTON leaves her service boys-they cause too many problems. DENISE FELTON bequeaths her quiet ways to the Junior girls-watch the boys come to a screeching halt. DIANE FELTON wills nothing-what a relief! ! BRUCE GUTWEILER presents his potential for living to be 107 by taking breaks from school to Scott Young. SHIELA HARSHMAN generously donates her see all, hear all, know all, do all, and tell all policy to her sister Connie. LINDA G. HOFELDT bestows her many boy problems to Penny Schubert. LINDA K. HOFELDT bequeaths her brilliant jokes to Mr. Hammer so that his students will no longer have to suffer. PAULETTE HOFELDT would bestow her man-chasing techniques to Karen Harshman, but Karen has talents of her own! ! JOE INMAN presents his fast-operation technique inherited from Gary Erskine to Curt Miller. Now Curt can carry on where Joe left off. JULIE JAMIESON bequeaths her cold ways to the Kool Cigarette Company. RITA JAMIESON donates the skin on her bones, with clothes on of course, to any deserving skeleton. DANNY JOHNSON wills his sense of nothing and his physique to the incoming football team. LINDA LEEDS presents her cheerleader's position to Terry Blackner, Just what our team needs, a little spirit from a gogo girl. EARL LEONARD leaves Linda Hermes his locker. Now she'll have a little something to remember him by. JACK LIND bequeaths his ruthless ways with women to Bill Thomas. You've got them kissing your feet now, Bill. FIFTH-ONE of us have labored and studied side by side during these last four perilous years, that we might achieve these future hopes: CHUCK BROOKE, running against Mr. Upshaw in the 1976 Presidential campaign is looking up his old C. H. S. classmates for needed support. SHIELA HARSHMAN, the NBC and CBS for C. H. S., reported the following: A CANDY BAHR no longer exists, it's now Candy Young and the Youngsters. TED BENNER had broken the Montana State record with 386 new transmissions in the last year. SUSAN BRAINARD is operating her own bus line between Chinook and Glasgow. DEAN BRINKMAN is now a famous orator. Dean began his illustrious career by reading the Class of 1966's Prophecy. GEORGLANN BROWN, having been wed for ten years has finally decided it's just too much work for two people out in that big sugarbeet field, so she has settled down and started raising her own little crew. ALICE CONRAD is the head hair stylist for the Beatles. PERRY COWDERY has his own butcher shop. He specializes in big, big steaks. The newest star of Country Western Music is our own ACE SPADE DANES. His latest hit is Four Card Stud. DEBRA DRONEN lives in California and judges pedigree horse shows. REGINA FEIST is the leader of the Air Force Drum and Bugle Corps. She gives advice to lonely hearts. BRUCE GUTWEILER is now the owner of Our Own Hardware chain stores. He's doing a thriving business and had traded in his super Sport for a Toronado. The womans touch is beginning to show as we see LINDA GAIL FORELDT as the new owner and manager of a chain of Buttrey Food Stores in Montana. Still the life at all the Lloyd dances is LINDA KAY HOFELDT. In fact she is the proud owner of that fine establishment. PAULETTE HOFELDT is now an Audience Livener Upper . Whenever the audience forgets to laugh, Paulette lets go with her patented giggle, then everyone bursts out. JOE INMAN is now an employee at Kennedy National Airport. CAROLYN OEHMCKE was so encouraged by becoming Homecoming Queen that she is now running as a candidate for the title of Miss Montana. RANDINA PEDERSON liked to drag main street so much that after she and Gary were married they bought it to use as their own private testing center for their hot cars. RANDY PETERSON has just received the award for Farmer of the Year for his 103 pound sugarbeet. That's giving it the old sugarbeeter try, Pete! JOHN POWELL is head of the Physics Department at C. H. S. His motto: If you can't learn it, teach it! Mrs. Leeds has finally quit giving piano and voice lessons. Her predecessor—who else but CYNTHIA RUSCH!
