The Student Council, Chino l-ligh School's representative group, met regularly during the year to discuss and act upon matters pertaining to the students and their activities. This years A. S. B. president was Alvin Pierce, lr. Serving on the cabinet with him were George Borba, vice president, Pat Mauzey, secretary, Millie Rod, business managerg Frank Van Pelt, sergeant at arms, Betty lo lVlcPhail, girls' athletic managery and Tom Deeming, boys' athletic manager. These seven, plus tour class presidents, Girls' League president, and the Boys' Club president, made up the Council. Principal lohnston E. Walker, Mrs. Eldora Belmour and Gerald Litel, served as the Council's advisers. The l949-50 Council took the initiatory step towards further student selt-government by proposing the Student Senate. The Senate is composed ot tive seniors, tour juniors, three sopho- mores, and two treshmen elected by their respective classes. lt will relieve the Council ot some ot its work and will also give the students a stronger voice in their government.
