Chinle High School has a new look and sense of achievement. This is the year of a new beginning. After years of empty promises, together we have leaped forward to a new sense of awareness. Our school will be a show case for achievement in each area of learning. Our school campus, with the help of our fine vocational program, is emerging as a show case for our pride. Nothing can stop our commitment. Now is the time. To our Seniors who have fought to bring about this change we offer thanks and our kindest regards. Your commitment has been strong. It is my hope we have offered the tool of education to all and wish you good luck in the future. You will always have a home at C.H.S. ,W .il iPhoto Idents.l 1. This year's guest speaker, Mr. Reginald Begaye from Tohatchi, N.M., spoke on topics such as Positive Self-Image-Being an American and Culture and Indian Values . Along with his advice and Geraldine King's lDrama instructor at NCCJ, students had sometime to think of themselves as individuals. On the lighter side, the Lena and Sheree show, Tim Clashin, and little Miss Begay tfrom Many Farms Elementary Schooll, gave the students a performance one would not forget. You will always have a home at C.H.S. , i N: ,4 iPhoto Idents.J 1. Principal of Chinle High School for this 1979-80 school year is Mr. David May. Before moving west he resided in the state of Delaware. While there, he served several positions as a public educator. We welcome you, Mr. May. 2. After seventeen years of sitting behind a teacher's desk, Mr. Phillip Kraus now occupies the Assistant Principal's seat. 3. l wish my wife would stop yakking - someone might call in sick this morning. f -.M Z' i' H x Lx . American In ' A large crowd attended the annual American Indian Day event held at the Chinle Community Center on Sept. 21, 1979. This program was hosted by the Title IV program under the organization of CHS student advocate leader, Virginia Etsitty. This year's guest speaker, Mr. Reginald Begaye from Tohatchi, N.M., spoke on topics such as Positive Self-Image-Being an American and Culture and Indian Values . Along with his advice and Geraldine King's lDrama instructor at NCCI, students had sometime to think of themselves as individuals. On the lighter side, the Lena and Sheree show, Tim Clashin, and little Miss Begay lfrom Many Farms Elementary Schooll, gave the students a performance one would not forget.
