The Girls Varsity Softball team had one of its best seasons, winning the Eastern Shore District title with an 8-1 record. The team worked very hard on fundamentals, forcing other teams to make mistakes by playing very aggressively. The team was led by many outstanding players, such as Me- lissa Jester, batting .588 with 39 stolen bases, 10 extra base hits and driving in 34 runs. Denise Bowden completed an 8-2 pitch- ing record, with a .489 batting average. Kim Doyle, in her first year behind the plate, allowed only one passed ball the en- tire season, while putting out 8 players at the plate.
