Indication Not all teachers have that all important ability to keep students busy and progressive and still have them remain happy and contented. Not all teachers have that fine perception which enables them to realize when their students have reached the work point where their academic and social responsibilities cease to return the greatest rewards . In our Commercial Department we have a cheerful, dedicated teacher, who demonstrates daily all of the characteristics men¬ tioned. ' For six years we have had a teacher who has conducted her classes in a quiet, orderly and efficient manner. Courteous in every respect and always attentive and mindful of the needs and wishes of her students, this teacher has raised our standard of thinking and working in our classroom activities. This is the type of teacher whose influence profoundly affects the daily living and the future of each student she teaches. Therefore, we, the class of 1960, enthusiastically dedicate this annual to our commercial teacher, Mrs. Christine Conklin, and to our math teacher, Mrs. Stella Taylor.

honors When one is highly respected, deeply loved, and greatly admired by many, there, indeed, must be a reason. Mrs. Ida Anne Gladding is that reason. She has proven in her short stay at Chincoteague High School that with a little patience and understanding, nothing is impossible. Through Mrs. Gladding’s genuine love for teaching and sincere interest in pupils, she has in¬ spired them to devote more time to studying and learning. The combination of a pleasant dis¬ position, winning personality, ability to make friends, wonderful sense of humor, and willing¬ ness to help at all times are qualities to which we wish to pay tribute and homage. Because of our association with her, we have increased our standards morally as well as intellectually. Thus, we humbly honor our friend and teacher, Mrs. Ida Anne Gladding.
