LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT We, the Senior Class of 1942, will soon walk out of China Grove High School. All through the past year it has been hard to realize that we are Seniors; but, in looking back, we can say that we’ve enjoyed everything. As has been the custom, the Seniors will some of their most prized belongings to those who will soon be where we are now. To our parents we say, Many thanks for making it possible for us to receive a high school education.” To our principal, Mr. Bivens, we heartily give thanks for his guidance which has aided the development of our character and our education. To our faculty, we say, Thank you for all the hard hours you’ve spent in teaching us”. We leave our appreciation to our faculty advisers, Miss Neely and Mr. Holt. The following are our small gifts, not only to the Juniors, but to all future graduates of China Grove High School. We hope that the example we have set will be one that you will enjoy following and making better. Margie Cress wills her blond hair to Dorothy Gentle, provided she doesn’t bleach it. Wilma Lowder wills her personality to Clara Goble. To Kathryn Callicutt and Bobby Bostian, Sarah Suddeth wills her love for dancing. Howard Eagle wills his ability to play football to Jack Bame. To Laura To Wilkie and Bernice McCombs, Nellie Bradshaw and Elizabeth Hall will their companionship. Dorothy Calloway and EJelen Freeze will their big mouths to the Seymour sisters, provided they learn to control them better than they did. To Judith Ann Jordon, Edith Eagle leaves her sportsmanship in basketball. Junior Earnhardt leaves those credit memorandums in bookkeeping to anyone in the Junior Class who can keep them straight next year. To Frank Eller and Hubert Benson, Raymond Kirk and Odell Moose leave their very close friendship. Ray Mault leaves his ability to tease the girls to Hubert Johnston. Harvey Weant says he has nothing to will but the old bus; so that goes to anybody who can keep it in as good condition as he has the past two years. To Evon Shimpock, Lois Trexler leaves her cheerful disposition. To Frank Miller, Ernest Weaver leaves that deep voice and that friendly smile. Mabel Newlin wills her A’s to Tip Albright. Bernu.ice Bradshaw wills her position as typist for The Trident to anyone Miss Neely thinks will be as good as she has been. Ruth Smith leaves her shorthand notebook to anyone who can read Smith” shorthand. To Jack Melchor, Harold Ray Cruse leaves his friendship with Mr. Bivens. Bessie Koon and Doris Shuping will their friendship and their double dates to Louise Rary and Margaret Farmer. Mary Brown wills that ear-to-ear grin to Christine Follett. To Mary Rose Gillis, Hazel Abernathy wills that friendly smile. Jack Eller wills his ability to out-talk everybody to Jo Basinger. To Loma Kirk, Ruby Shoe leaves her place in Glee Club. Helen Grant wills that worried look to Carrie Louise Safriet. To Bobby Davis, John Basinger wills his ability to get on the honor roll. Kenneth Suther leaves his fatness to Peggy Stirewalt. To Gray Freeze and Manuel Wyatt, Clyde Luther leaves his grown-up ways. Pearl Freeze leaves her taste for suckers to Leona Shuping. To Louise Trexler, Helen Morrison leaves her quietness.
