Girls finish strong The entire girls track team displayed their skills during a very impressive season. Individual and team spirit ran high. The highlight of the year took place at the state meet. Linda Kolbe placed second in the discus and the mile relay team of Cindy Bruckner, Tammy Pagel, Paula Kobriger, and Kelly Owens took 4th. 1. Barb Kobriger hands off skillfully to Patty Schaefer. 2. Connie Piepenburg shows off her unique style in the high jump. 3. Brenda Bangart soars through the air during the long jump event. 4. Kelly Owens calls upon every ounce of energy as she races across the finish line. 5. Cindy Bruckner exhibits the determination it takes to be a winner. 6. Golfers up to par Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity had very good seasons for 1978. The Varsity finished with a 11 -5 record, while the J.V.'s had 8 wins, 3 losses and 1 tie. During the course of the year, Gary Mathies tied the school individual eighteen hole record. The Team Medalist was Scott Reider with a 42.44 nine hole average. For the J.V s, much of their success went to Bob Young who had a 45.85 nine hole average. 1. Row 1: Bob Young, Gary Mathies, Greg Nikolai, Scott Reider, Tom Hertel and John Young.
