The night of April 29 was cool, but couples arriving at the 1972 Junior Prom didn’t seem to notice. The final touches had been put on the decorations and the hard work of the students and their advisors, Mr. Smith and Mrs. Gilow, seemed worth it. After the coronation, the couples danced to the music of Chuck Drumm and his orchestra. A Post Prom party sponsored by the Chilton Rotary Club followed at the Buccaneer Lodge with music provided by the “We Three”. 11

Starting off this year’s high school events was the 1972 Homecoming. The pep assembly began the day’s activities with seniors winning the skit and sign contests, and the sophomores taking first place in cheering. Game time arrived with the Chilton Tigers challenging the Plymouth Panthers. Half time entertainment was provided by the high school band under the directionof Marvin W. Hoffman. The first place float and window display winners were announced at this time. Sophomores took first place with their float and also the uptown window display. The freshman class won the window display at school. Herbie Schneider and his orchestra provided the music for the dance that was held after the game. 13
